Disable "Send feedback online" message? RRS feed

  • Question

Is there a way to disable the pesky "Send feedback online" message that appears in the OCS 2007 client?

We have up to 4000 OCS users and everyone gets this message, it persists until you click it and a webpage to send feedback appears. After that the message is gone.

The registry value that is set after the message has been clicked is unique for every user and is not suitable to set through a script of some sort.

The gruop policy settings does not contain a setting to disable this...

    Ideas anyone?

Is this a feature that cannot be turned off?

Maybe someone can answer this question?

  • That setting is still in the RTM and R2 Communicator.adm file but it is for controlling the behavior

of the Quality General Option (Allow Microsoft to collect information about how I use Communicator).

I'm not sure if enabling this via GPO or directly in the registry on a workstation before the client has been run the first time will actually suppress the alert that appears.  I'll try to test this out and report back with the behavior.
