Cannot find server during full restore

Question
-
Hi there,
I seem to be having a slight problem trying to restore my PC from a backup.
I created a USB restore disk from within WHS2011 and it all runs ok until the point where it actually looks for my server - it just can't seem to find it, even if I type the ip in manually.
I can connect to it fine using chrome on a different PC and navigating to servername/connect so I know it's working.
Any ideas? Getting pretty desperate now as really need to restore this pc :(
The LAN card in it is an "Atheros LAN" if that makes any difference. :)

Make sure to use the 32-bit drivers for your network card as the restore environment is based on Vista 32-bit.
That was a problem specific to WHS v.1
What you can try is to attach the disk to another client of this Windows Home Server (either internally or with an USB to disk adapter) and run the ClientRestoreWizard.exe. If it is not locally on your PC in Program Files\Windows Home Server you can copy it from the server, where it is located in the folder
C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\ClientRestore\1FAE75EB-B11A-4883-BCEE-9AC1C6D95216(not sure if the GUID varies). Select the appropriate folder for the currently running client OS you try to perform the restore from.
This should circumvent any network and name resolution issues based on the Windows RE envionment used on the stick.

The LAN card might make a difference.
After you created the USB restore disk, did you also restore drivers to it? If not, that'll be what you need to do:
1. Go to a working client, open the dashboard
2. In computers tab, select the client _that you want to restore_
3. Select Restore files for this computer (or somesuch)
4. Last backup, files, there should be a folder called something like "drivers for system restore". That folder you need to be restored to your USB stick as well.
Retry restore and be succesfull (I hope, good luck).

Thanks for your reply - I've tried this and it doesn't work unfortunately.
I've also tried downloading the driver pack from my motherboards manufacturers website and that hasn't made a difference.
Any other ideas?

To be sure, I assume the client is connected by cable, right?
It has been a while since I restored a client but IIRC, there is a step in the process where you must let the client restore process actually locate network drivers, it does not do this by itself. Something like:
1. Boot client from USB recovery key
2. Client trying to locate Server does not work
3. Option to scan device for drivers -> Select and scan the same USB stick
4. Will come up with drivers for the LAN, select and continue. This is OTOH and it has been a while. Otherwise, I am not sure.
