Dialing from your calendar! RRS feed

  • I would like to see a feature where I click a phone number in my appointments and it gives me the option to dial and/or save the number as contacts.

I am frequently having to take conf. calls, that it is frustrating to try and dial that on the fly while doing other things.

I concur,  this is most useful and necessary feature for corporate users. It is quite sad that it was missing in WM5, WM6 and WM6.1.  It is quite surprising that with so many internal users of this platform, nobody has faced this issue in Microsoft.

  • You can dial a phone number in an appointment if the number is entered in the Notes section and using this format:

    tel:12345678

If you have a non-touch screen device, it is even possible to enter just the number in the location field without the tel:

  • This is nice if your meeting requestors know to omit any dashes and parens in the location or notes fields.  However I work for a company 40k strong.  It is pretty much impossible to train so many to do it one way just for their windows mobile users to save a few key strokes, vs the way it is already saved in the meeting requestors Outlook Appointment Location history (no key strokes for them.)
