  • Question

  • Now that one care is not supported in W7, how does one recover files that were backed up using one care??

  • Right now, manually. We're hoping that a utility may be made available by Microsoft, but nothing has been mentioned about this yet.

You can restore to another PC that is running OneCare and then manually move the files to the Windows 7 PC.
You can open the backup .zip files with a program such as WinZip and extract the files from within. Any files that were split by the backup process will need to be renamed to have extensions of .001, .002, .003, etc, and then rejoined -

    File rejoin utility - http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/
