Workflow Visualization Feature does not appear RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have installed the Workflow visualization feature among other features by installing the ProjectServerStarter2010. When I go to "Site Features" @  http://serverName/pwa/_layouts/ManageFeatures.aspx I can not see the Wrokflow Visualization Feature So I can activate or deactivate it.  Any ideas; thanks in advance.

  • Ravi,

    I think you might be having the site collection administartor's permision or logging oin with system account that's why you can see the link but for otoom, It doesn't dispaly the site collection feature link under site collection administration. Thought he might see Site administraion link.

    If you are trying to find out "site collection features" link in the site setting page in sharepoint 2010 and you couldn't find out the site administration section at all this is because the logged in user credentials may not have a permission as a site collection administrator, open central administration site:

    1) Select application management tab.
    2) Click on change site collection administrators link under site collection tab.
    3) add your self as site collection administrator.
    4) refresh the site settings page and you will see all site collection administration section.

    Hope this helps.

  • Verify if the solution is available @ Central Admin >> System Settings >> Manage Farm Solutions , and if its found then deploy the solution to the PWA site collection and then activate the feature.

    Instead PDPCustomizations provide u a batch script file, there you can just specify the PWA URL name, and when you run the batch file , it will automatically deploy the feature.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks.

    The solution is available @ Central Admin >> System Settings >> Manage Farm Solutions.

    Status is "deployed" to http://epm/ where epm is my server name. However it still doesn't show under "Site features". Thanks again

  • Hi

    Just a small correction, the Feature will be available under

    PWA Site - Site Settings - Site Collection Features and not site features..

    Let us know if that works.

  • Hi Ravishankar Ploepalli and thanks.

    I am not seeing Site collection Features.

    Under http://serverName/PWA, Here is the path I use: Site Actions> Site Sittings> (Site Actions Group>Mange Site Features).

    After clicking on "Manage Site Features", I can not see the Workflow Visualization Feature that I have installed using the "DeployAll" batch file that come with the starterkit. The installation of this kit was reported successfull and that the Workflow Visualization Feature is Activated!

    Thanks again

  • Amit and Ravi, thank you

    I am not able to change the site collection administrator; although my username is in the farm administators group next to setupadmin user as shown in the snapshot- I have removed the domain name from the snapshot for privacy reasons;

  • You meant to say you were using setupadmin to loginto the SharePoint site, if not add the user id you are using on the secondary site collection administrator group.

  • Hi there,

    Did you try to login with system account (seems setupadmin account) & see if you get the Site collection administration link in site settings?
    Did you try to search the account from people picker buttin next to people icon?

  • Ravi and Amit;

    Thank you both. It was permissions issue. My user was given access to site collection feature. I now can see the Workflow Visualization Feature Activated. Thanks again
