  • The updated documentation is available here: https://skydrive.live.com/view.aspx?cid=CFB122124E1DF171&resid=CFB122124E1DF171%21120. Step 8 is the live id registration step.

  • I really need clarification on where my website is actually getting created and where the install files are getting installed/copied to. I am simply trying to install the portal onto the same server as where my CRM deployment resides (on-premise deployment).  I run the websitecopy.exe UI, enter the name of the website thinking that the process will create a new website within IIS but that is not happening.  I also manually created a new website in IIS, specified that name during the process but that did not work either.  The copy completes successfully and I can see all of the files directly in the CRM application (under content management) but have no idea where the files got loaded to or even how to access the URL to hit the portal.  I'd really appreciate any help/feedback/suggestions you have.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Mark,

Websitecopy just copies the backed up website content from an xml file into CRM. It doesn't deploy the site in IIS. You have to do that manually like you would any other website. The documentation that is part of the portal package provides information on where files should be copied for IIS.

  • Where do we access the website that is copied into the CRM?  Do the files get copied from there, or unzipped from the content zip file?  Its shocking how difficult this is.
