Vista activated but WGA thinks otherwise

Question
-
After some successfull windows update (wga worked for a while) i tried to download windows media encoder 9 and i can't get past the wga check anymore. It says my windows needs to be activated, but when i go in system properties, it says it is activated. I even tried to reenter the product key, at the end it said vista was activated, but not enough for wga
What can i do to authenticate my Windows ?

Hello,
If your System Properties window is showing that you're activated and online validation says you're not, please
1. Phone activate and speak with a support agent when you’re given the option. You can start by typing "slui 4" in the search field in the Start Menu and pressing Enter. Follow the prompts through phone activation (be ready for lots of numbers) and then reboot.2. Once you're done, please revalidate by clicking on "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine
After you've validated successfully you can log out and log back in or reboot to get rid of any non-genuine messaging you may be getting.
Let me know if you run into any snags. Thanks a lot!Thursday, May 10, 2007 6:31 PM

It's working now. Aero is back ! Thank you for the quick reply.
Indeed i typed alot of numbers, what will remain a mystery is why this exchange of numbers couldn't be automated over the internet ?
