If you renewed on one computer and your laptop is on the same subscription it will show the updated status within 24 hours. It needs to received the updated certification from the server.
If it continues to reflect an incorrect renewal date after a day, open OneCare and click 'check for update' to force the communication.
If that still doesn't help, contact support.
To confirm that they are both activated with the same subscription LiveID, open OneCare and click Help/About on both and view the Subscription ID.
