Are/Where are all of logs kept for when I log in to <myservername>.homeserver.com? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using Lights-Out, there is a bar graph that will show me when I have successfully logged in to my server remotely, under "Uptime Chart".  Is there some other logging that is happening that I can view on the server?

Is there a log kept of unsuccessful login attempts to my server?

On the "old" whs, there was an addin that would lockout a user after "x" attempts.

    Anything like that on whs2011?

    Thanks!

    Dan

  • I'm not aware of an add-in that exposes the IIS logs on the server. (Doesn't mean one doesn't exist... :) ) They do, however, exist, in:

    %SystemDrive%\inetpub\logs\LogFiles

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
