Windows 8 back ups RRS feed

  • Question

  • OK I am not a puter geek but I seem to get things working and know where not to play LOL. I am having issues backing up windows 8 64 bit. If I install hotfix 2781272 will that fix it or do I still need to do other changes? Is this hotfix part of a standard update? (should I already have it if I am up to date with updates?) I really don't want to mess around  any more than just a update!!! Thanks Mike

  • Yes that should fix it with no other changes. As its a Hotfix (not fully tested) it is not automatically installed on your Server, but I have not heard of any problems with it. Certainly I use it on two servers without issue.

  • You need to log on to your Server using a monitor , keyboard, mouse etc connected to the server or RDP to your server from your Client. You can then run it and it will install on your server.

Fine I will get it up on my pc and load it in a thumb After 30 mins of hiting buttons typing in 3mile long addresses finally pops up the link Microsoft gave me can not be found!!!!!! I never had so many issues to get something to work!!!! Do I need to take a week of of work or hire a tech just to get a product to work!!!!! That's right not happy right now :(

  • Just download to your local computer, copy to a shared folder on your Server, then either RDP to your server or log on locally and run from the shared folder! Two minutes maximum after the download. Don't forget that you are coming to WHS2011 towards the end of its lifecycle
