  • Is the error 0xc00007 or 0xc000007 or 0xc000007b? Probably none of those. Please ensure you have the information correct.

You don't provide any details of how the message is obtained. Windows has error messages associated with error codes such as that. The Windows function FormatMessage can convert an error code to a message. There are plenty of code samples showing how to use it. If you are not using the Windows API directly then whatever you are using probably calls it for you and you just need to get the message from that.

In VS look at the "Tools" menu. There is an "Error Lookup" there. 0xc00007 and 0xc000007 and 0xc000007b are not found but 0xc0000007b is and the message is "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.".

  • Hi Austin,

Could you please tell us your OS version?

We need to check if the root cause is about your VS IDE or the project itself.

Does it happen on creating a new C project?
