Remote desktop disables Aero on Windows 7

General discussion

We can have Live Mesh running on Windows 7 without it disabling Aero now. One thing got overlooked tho, when you connect to another device - say Win7 machine to DESKTOP2 Win XP - Aero will still get disabled on Windows 7. Even after you disconnect, Aero is not enabled again until you enable it yourself by setting a theme that uses Aero.

Anybody else experienced this too?

Yep.
If I select the same theme to "reapply" it, Aero effects are enabled, but the transparency is disabled on the them. I need to place the check mark back in the settings for the color and adjust the intensity as desired.

I had opened a bug about this already:

Not sure if we should validate and vote on both. Maybe the team can link the two reports together?

I'm pretty sure that the team has referenced these reports on the internal system used to track bugs and suggestions so that both Connect bugs are being considered. Thanks for posting yours, too, Stefan.
