problem with win xp genuine validation RRS feed

  • i have an original copy of win xp professional cd and it is installed in my first computer. Now, the computer is not working and i have bought a new one. I installed the win xp from the previous cd but I could not activate it. Why this is so ?? What shall i do to install in my new computer??

    To start with, if this windows xp which you are trying to install on a new computer is already been installed on the old computer and if you were unable to uninstall it from the old computer for whatever reasons then the microsoft server will think that the PK is already been in used and will not allow u to activate it on a new computer. because the server will feel that you are trying to install one copy of windows on two computers

     

    so what we need to do is log into windows an then log in to the website http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/PKUInstructions.aspx if you are able to log into internet and download the PK update tool and call microsoft customer central and get a new PK. if you are not able to log in to internet then u need to log into windows click on start and then click on run and type in oobe/msoobe /a it will open a windows actiation screen then u will have to select activate over the phone and select the option chane PK. when on this page you will have to call microsoft and get a new PK type in the new PK into the activation windows and activate over the phone

     

    Microsoft Customer Central Number => 18009365700 or 18009364900

     

    Hope this will solve the problem

    Please repost this in your OWN, NEW thread - not piggybacking on someone else's long-dead post.
    That said - you are using a Volume License Key for Windows, which has been generated by a KeyGen program, rather than MS itself - you are also using a Blocked Volume License Key for Office (that once belonged to MS itself!).
    You need to get legal by purchasing legal software from a reputable store.
