Remove From My Forums

Windows 10 Update KB4541335 fail with 0x800f0988

Hello,

On Windows 10 Pro Education 64bits, with Windows Update I have error n°0x800f0988 with KB4541335.

I have tried to install it with Windows Update, then downloading the msu, manually install and command line install nothing work.

I've tried this:

net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver

Don't work to... Here the error message:

InstallWorker.01109: OperationResultCode of the installation: 0X4 HRESULT of the installation: 0X80240022 OperationResultCode of the update: 0X4 HRESULT of the update: 0X800f0988

wWinMain.01887: Failed to install update "Mise à jour pour Windows (KB4541335)"; Error: 0X800f0988. Command line: wusa.exe "C:\Users\Administrateur\Desktop\windows10.0-kb4541335-x64_18605e9f8437523f91ba6c9dde1f68f1e44cdcd7.msu" /log:C:\Users\Administrateur\Desktop\fulleventlogview-x64\_4541335.evtx

Could someone help me? Thank you.

The third link is a different system which is best for home users. You have there specific place to ask question regarding windows, and sincew your question is regarding impact of upgrade, this might fit your case
