  • Everything I've tried so far it rejects changing. ChangeVL... script, edit registry to change value and run Activation Wizard then change product key and MGDiag all fail. Do have original (SP2 cd) but used a burned XP Pro - SP3 cd instead so not so far along can't redo everything but it is an all nighter :( MGDiag output follows

Have you used the Change Product Key app?

With what you've already tried, though, you may have screwed the pooch, and be unable to fix it.
Volume Keys are Retail Sticker Keys are OEM - and I'm not sure that the changer works in that direction.

Is the Sticker Key for XP Pro? - few are! If not, then you'll have to reinstall using OEM Home Media, rather than Retail Pro media.
