Why is my program killed by RDP? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm new to Windows Server 2012 R2, so please have mercy on me.

I am developing a program with Visual Studio 2012 in C#.
When I sit at the console of my 2012 R2 server and start my program, it runs o.k.
If I then connect to this server from another machine (tablet), the connection is made, but my program is killed.

Other programs I have running on the console, such as WordPad, are not killed.  Only my program.

Using gpedit.msc I can set various policies on the Remote Desktop Session Host,
but I have not found the setting(s) to prevent my application from being terminated when I remotely login to the server.

Usually I set my account type to be Administrator, but if I set myself as non-Administrator it does not solve the problem.

Can you advise me on how to stop RDP from killing my application on the Server Console?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Charles
