  • Hello thehax,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

The report is telling us that your installation of Office Enterprise 2007 on your Medion computer is a nongenuine installation.  It is a volume licensing installation that was done with an Invalid Volume Licensing Key.  Invalid product keys are made by a pirating program know as a Key Generator, or KeyGen for short.  This product key was never officially issued by Microsoft, making it Invalid.

Normally, legitimate users of Volume Licensing editions of Office are associated with larger business, educational, or governmental organizations.  If that's you, please contact your organization's IT support staff for further assistance.

If your use of this installation of Office Enterprise 2007 is not associated with a larger business, educational, or governmental organization, and you purchased the installed copy of Office Enterprise 2007 thinking that it was a retail license to be sold to individual consumers, it is likely that you are a victim of software piracy or counterfeiting.  As an individual consumer, you should never have been sold Volume Licensing (VL) materials such as the VL installation disc, and you certainly should not have received an Invalid Product Key for Office Enterprise 2007.  You should have been sold Genuine retail licensed software.

If so, your first course of action is to confront your seller with this information and demand a full refund.  If the seller refuses to help, please file a piracy report at www.microsoft.com/piracy.  Also, depending upon whether you received "high quality" counterfeit materials, you may qualify for the Office Complimentary Offer or for the Office Genuine Advantage discounted offer.  Please see the FAQ here:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en#ID0EKNAC  If you think that you qualify for the Genuine Office Offer, apply for the Offer thru the Learn More Online link that the OGA Notifier is displaying.

One other possibility is that at one time your computer did have a Genuine installation of Office installed, but for some reason it was replaced with the current installation which is nongenuine.  This could have happened if you took your computer to a repair shop and they reinstalled Windows and/or some or all of your programs.  You Get Genuine once again by uninstalling the current nongenuine installation of Office and using your Genuine Microsoft hologrammed Office installation CDs, along with the genuine Product Key found on your Office Edition's Certificate of Authenticity, of if a retail package, on the yellow-orange Proof of License label inside the package, to put back the genuine installation of Office you may have already had on the computer.

No, I'm afraid that the Key and product in use here are for Volume Licensed purposes only  - and whoever sold you the key/installer did so illegally.

The key has been (probably) generated by a KeyGen program.

As far as I know, Medion do NOT sell machines pre-installed with Office (apart from Trial versions) - and particularly not with Office Enterprise. Medion are not involved, AFAICT, since their installations do not use that key, and are not Enterprise installs anyhow. Whoever told you that the key was correct either didn't know what they were talking about or didn't have the full facts.

Office Enterprise is only available to large organisations, for members of that organisation to use on that company's machines - NOT for the home user.

Someone, at some time, has installed a pirate copy of Office on that PC - and recent changes to the WGA and WAT processes have picked up on the install.

The only solution is to acquire a legal copy of Office from a reputable store (or MS) and uninstall and reinstall Office.

  • I have also been getting these messages but I can still use my copy of Office.  If I run MGADiag.exe will I no longer be able to run them?  I cannot be down while I purchase a new copy.

  • Hello dnnymitc,

Running mgadiag.exe installs no programs, alters no data, and does not in any way affect your installed Office or office documents.  It just gathers data and displays it.

After running mgadiag, please start a new thread in this section of the forum by clicking on the Ask A Question link, and then paste the report into the fresh thread.
