I have just purchased a genuine office home and student 2007, now do I have to uninstall the not genuine first and then install the genuine? my excel spreadsheets and word documents are on a USB key. If i have to uninstall and then reinstall how do I proceed to recover from my USB drive my saved spreadsheets and word ome Basic. My computer is a Dell inspiron 1525. Thank you
Yes, you do want to uninstall the existing nongenuine installation of Office, then restart twice, before installing the Genuine Office H&S 2007.
To recover your documents saved on a USB flash drive, simply open Windows Explorer (aka My Computer) and copy them from the flash drive to your "My Documents" folder (Windows XP) or your user's Documents folder (Windows Vista and 7). When you next open the Office programs, they will see them there because that's the default location for Office documents.
