Cannot edit records in CRM 2013 outlook client

    Question

  • All of the records for the outlook client show fine, but I am unable to edit any of them. In the CRM 2011 version when an account record for instance was clicked, it would open in a new window and allow editing. In CRM 2013 no new window opens and no editing can be done on the display screen.

  • can you please check to make sure user does not have only read only access? to check this open relevant user record and check access level it should be Read/Write

  • Do you have the CRM 2013 Outlook client installed?  If not, it won't let you double-click to open records in Outlook.
