  • For every certification exam, including MCSA, you need to do sufficient studying to be sure that you are knowledgeable about all the topics that are listed in the "Skills Measured" section of the exam description page. No single book can be guaranteed to completely cover all the topics, regardless of whether you read or not the "notes" sections. This means that you need to have experience working on the subject of the exam, and actually understand what you are doing. Merely memorizing a book is not going to be enough. In order to become experienced and to understand what you are doing, any reading materials (including the exam preparation book) will be helpful, and the notes can occsionally help you get a better understanding of the topic. But merely reading the book (even if you do include the notes section) will not be enough.
