  • I'm system admin but I'm unable to change the security roles of an sales person and receiving the error below but I checked my own role and I'm not an sales person. Anybodoy tips? We're using Dynamics 2016.

    Users cannot add privileges to or change access levels for roles to which they are assigned. For help with changing a role, contact your Microsoft Dynamics CRM administrator.

    Can you please try to change the business unit of the target user (to clear off all the security roles assigned to the user), then change back to the original BU and apply the security role again?

  • I had the same problem.

    I had my source AND destination systems on CRM 2016.1 (8.1). Because I was unsure what version the destination was, I exported the solution as 8.0, which removed some components from the solution that was not 8.0 compliant.

    I solved the issue by exporting the solution in 8.1
