  • Check your system time and date, insure it is correct then go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate. I ask you to do this based on the event time stamp, it indicates an discrepancy between the time the report was generated and the date you indicated above.

    Event Time Stamp: 10:13:2010 07:51

    VS

    22.10.2010

If your time is correct then according to a response I read earlier in an older thread, Darin Smith instructed a poster to re-enter the product key and attempt to reactivate, you are using an SLP key so you would need to enter the COA key.

Look on the bottom, back, side or in the batter compartment (some laptops) for a COA_SLP sticker. The sticker will have a product key, insure the sticker is readable. Notate the key and enter it in the change product key wizard located in the system properties at the bottom in the activation information section. Enter the new key, select activate now, select activate by phone, select country, dial the number, do not press any menu options and a real person will answer. Activate.

If you have problems finding the activate by phone option type SLUI 4 in the start menu search box, hit enter, select region, dial but do not select any menu options.

If this fails let us know and we will give you a link to start a no-cost support incident.

  • the command is SLUI 4  not 04. However, if you have alread spoken to an activation rep then try the following.

    SFC/system restore

type cmd in the search box of the start menu, right click on the icon that appears and type sfc /scannow without the qoutes and press enter, allow SFC to run, reboot when directed. If you get any error messages write them down exactly as they appear. After rebooting go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate.

If that does not work then type system restore in the search box, click on the resulting program and follow the wizards prompts to restore to a previous point prior to the non-genuine status.

If that does not work then start a no cost wga tech support incident at the following link http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactwga
