Restored PC won't boot RRS feed

  • Question

  • I tried restoring one of my Vista PC yesterday.  The restore process completed without errors, but the PC now fails during boot: it first complains that it can't find AUTOCHECK, then briefly displays a blue screen and reboots.

Any idea why this is happening?

  • I'd suggest trying a startup repair from your Vista DVD (assuming that you have a 'real' Vista disc, and not an OEM 'recovery' disc.)

  • Yes, I will try to do a repair with my Vista DVD.

But, how am I supposed to trust WHS to back up my files?  :-(
