Data migration manager start problem RRS feed

    Hi,

    when trying to start the data migration manager (Datenmigrationsmanager 4.07333.113) the application hangs at the task "synchronization with microsoft dynamics crm server". After several minutes I get the error message which says that the wizard needs to get closed and it prompts me to debug or exit. After choosing debug nothing happens.

    This migration manager is important for me as I cannot prepare the import of SAP data with the "normal" built-in import wizard via IE. Please help me.

    Hi

     

    If your deployment uses more than one server (seperate SQL and IIS Server) make sure you're installing DMM on the SQL server.

    we had problems too with the DMM.  We found out that DMM is not supported if it is installed on the CRM server.  We also found out that it seems to work best if you install it on a computer without any version of SQL installed.  When installing DMM, we selected to allow the installer install SQL Express.

    Keith: DMM is installed on the CRM-server where SQL is installed.

    emessage: I wasn't able to configure DMM properly on my laptop and I thought it will only work on the CRM machine.

    No.  I have an email from Microsoft support telling me that DMM is not supported on the machine with CRM.  They share the same registry keys and the settings can get overwritten.
