Magazine style Wordpress theme does not display correctly in WLW

    Question

  • After recently changing my blog theme, WLW is no longer able to detect the wordpress theme.  In the error log I see this error message:

Failed to download template Framed: System.Exception: Unable to locate blog post elements using most recent post

It appears that this only affects the "Edit" tab of WLW.  Clicking on the "Preview" tab does display the blog theme correctly.

I've read that the issue is related to the themes that do not display the uncategorized posts but I'm not certain that this is the issue.  Has anybody else run into this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,

  • I'm getting a similar problem after installing WLW on my new system today.

It is unable to download any editing theme from Wordpress successfully (that I've tried).  I have gone through multiple attempts, all of which fail.

The older build of WLW (14.0.8064.206) is able to successfully update the editing theme.

THe log file is providing the following errors:

  • After more testing, it appears that the theming capabilities are all broken at the moment.  They are not working with Live Spaces either.

  • That's really interesting.  What's unusual is that my previous Wordpress theme worked in the same version of WLW [unless it updated w/o me knowing].  I'll revert my blog back to it's previous theme to test.  I'll let you know how that goes.

    Cheers,
    Paul
