  • Hi,

we have some issues on Czech TechNET forums.

I will describe issue on our licensing forum. Here we have only one unanswered question, but we see many Question-marks. But if we will choose - display only unanswered topics, than we see only one topic without answer.

  • Happens in the Powershell-Forum as well. Already answered threads appear as unswered in the main forum view. When you click on a post, the answers are still marked, though.
Unmarking an answer and remarking it, helps. But its clearly a bug.

    cheers, Denniver

  • Localized (Russian) forums are affected as well.

  • If you unmark an answer by OP and put answer mark as a moderator, the person who answered loses 5 points.

  • True, thanks for the reminder.

I dont understand this rule anyway. Only because some OP's care more or just are the ones who get the "mark as answer" concept, the answer itself is worth more?

  • If the OP confirms an answer, it has more weight than if the moderator marks an answer. I believe it's fair as OP always (or almost always) knows better if the answer solved the problem. The moderator can only guess based on his/her experience.

So, of course, some OPs don't mark answers and then moderator has to step in. But in case they do, their marks weigh more.

  • I guess in the Powershell forum its especially easy to decide which answer is right. The only time when i "correct" a marking by an OP, is when they simply mark their final post (which is usually something like "thanks, it works!")  as answer. :)

  • I correct such cases always :) How can you figure out if the script is correct without running it? Or do you run each script every time?

  • Most of them. :) With short scripts you can tell just by reading it. But then again, most OPs give at least a feedback (works/doesn't), even if they dont mark.
