I have been trying to download MSN messenger & the installation will not complete because I need service pack 2 & platform.
I have tried to install service pack 2 but then my computer says I need service pack 1.
I checked my updates & it was in the list with the following updates as well:
- Cumulative update for Media Center for Windows Vista
- Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 & NET Framework
- Security Update for Windows Vista
- Update Windows Vista
I have tried numerous times to update these & 1 of 2 things happens:
- I get the error code 80070490 & 490
- Or it states that everything was installed
However, these updates take less then 5 mins to install. After I get the successfully updated I restart my computer & try to install service pack 2.
My computer then tells me that I have not installed service pack 1. I have even checked for updates after it has installed & it has not showed up. Today I opened my computer & all the updates listed above were there except for service pack
1. Great! However service pack 2 says it cannot install until Service Pack 1 is installed. Again I check & service pack 1 has found its way to the updates to be installed list!
When I check my update list I see that it has been successfully installed. I know it must of not installed right because it took less than 5 mins. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
