UltraMon 2.7.1 - Taskbar disappears after Live Mesh Install RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • The Taskbar on my second monitor did not work after installing Live Mesh.  Chose setting in UltraMon to recover taskbar.  After changing setting and returning UltraMon to previous settings taskbar seemed to work fine.  Something must have been reset...now either setting works fine.

Setting changed in UltraMon::Monitor 2 (Live Mesh monitor) chose Ignore This Monitor on the Ignored Monitors tab.

  • I think the problem may be similar to what I experience with the system tray icon for Virtual PC 2007. If Explorer crashes, or when Explorer.exe is restarted, as what I think happens during an update, the VPC Console System Tray icon will not restart. It is actually a bug in VPC. In your case, I suspect that crashing explorer.exe would have the same effect on that taskbar. Upon a restart of explorer.exe, your taskbar would not reappear. In order for it to come back you would need to reset it or reboot the PC.
    That's my guess.

  • I've seen my second "smart taskbar" collapse and go away too. I have been able to get it back each time by going to the UltraMon settings and choosing no smart taskbar, then OK. Then go back to UltraMon settings and check the smart taskbar. Then all goes back to usual.
