SDF File Copied to Bin RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Sync Framework with a SQL Server CE client sync provider.

I spent hours trying to figure out why, despite synchronizing succeeding, I could not see the changes in the database.

Then, I realized that when the application builds, the .sdf file is copied to the debug/bin directory.

So, I updated my connection string for the Entity Framework to use it as the source instead of the location in the application directory.

This seems a bit unatural to me, that the sdf would be read from the bin directory, but perhaps this is the intended behavior.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Answers

  • If your app creates the CE database file (.sdf) under the current working directory, it is expected to see it under debug/bin directory. Please try to pass absolute path for where to create your CE .sdf file.

    Thanks,
