People often respond to my queries with several bock quotes that have their replies between the blocks. That's very useful. I have done that before in other forums, but I don't know how in the MS Forums. Can someone describe it briefly?
The way that I do it in here is open a chunk of HTML called blockquote.txt in Notepad. That allows me to close off a blockquote insert a br and open a new blockquote. So, when I can see that I need to do that I just click on the
HTML button, load blockquote.txt into ClipBoard and insert it as appropriate. Sometimes it gets more complicated than that, e.g. having to close other open tags first, but just inserting blockquote.txt can be done in the majority of the cases.
In the new Answers forum there is no HTML button so we have had to find a different workaround. I don't know yet whether the new workaround can be done in here. It apparently involves copying and repasting the whole original post as many
times as is required. Even without an HTML button, using IE it may be possible to do similar edits using the Developer Tools (F12). I'm still experimenting with that tack but it will have the additional complication of having all the HTML
tags encoded as text (but that could just mean having to use a variant of blockquote.txt for insertions). ; )
BTW a problem that is happening in the new Answers forum also happens in this one when using Googgle Chrome. You can delete too much and not leave anything to do a Ctrl-End to for your reply. In that case undo your last deletion (e.g. using Ctrl-z)
and backup so it doesn't delete too much. When that happened in GC what I did is just go into HTML mode and insert a br at the end.
