• Question

  • Attempting to convert MS Money Plus file to Quicken 2010 and Money file appears with a little lock when I find it and am unable to find with Quicken Converter.  What is the lock and does it mean it is password protected?  Is there a way to save a copy of the Money file without the lock?  Any working solution is appreciated.

  • Copy the *.mny file from the CD, or wherever it is now, to your Documents folder of the computer that has both  Money Plus (or 2007) and Quicken installed. In windows explorer, right click that file *.mny, and choose Properties. Un-tick the Read-Only box.

Quicken should then be able to do the conversion with the help of the Money installation.

  • Thanks for the response.  Found a way to copy of the file to my desktop and then was able to get Quicken to recognize the file.  Not to start the review process.  Wish Microsoft had not let Money go...worked great for me.
