Windows Live Mail contact load error, live mail must close

Question

Hi
I have Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit and I tend to keep it up to date. The most recent set of updates included Windows Live Essentials which gave me a new version of Windows Live Mail. I installed this to be greeted by the following on start up
Contacts failed to load. Windows Live Mail is incorrectly configured, please re-install.
and in a second window
Sorry, something unexpected happened and Windows Live Mail must close. Your most recent changes may not be saved.
Obviously I tried a repair. Then I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Then I tried renaming my contacts folder as several forum threads suggest this.
So far no luck.
Any Suggestions?- Moved by Mike Walsh FIN Wednesday, April 8, 2009 3:38 PM off-topic

Thanks for that little gem but there doesn't appear to be anywhere appropriate to put it.
