windows xp 2002 updated pc

  i have a hp pavilion with widdows 2002 edition that i reciently updated about 2 weaks ago i have run 3 spyware programs and xp regestry cleaner and microsoft fixit center online but it still frezes up sometimes i have to shut pc down to get it to unfreze please can anybody help i have run out of ideas
