No automatic sync for months RRS feed

  • Question

  • Device 1: windows xp
    Device 2: windows 7

Have used Mesh on device 1 (XP) just fine and love it till the begging of Oct 2009 after one of the updates. No news, no automatic syncing since then, no error codes either. Installed mesh on a new computer today (windows 7), still no news no syncing no errors. double checked my folder setting, set everything on "(sync) when files are added or modified" .

    Please help! Thanks!!!

  • Are you looking for sync from the Live Desktop to the new PC? Were the existing folders offered to the new PC when you installed and signed into Live Mesh?
On the XP machine, your best bet is to remove the machine from the mesh at http://www.mesh.com and then uninstall the client on the XP machine. Install once again and sign in to add it back to the Mesh, then set up your Mesh folders again. If they are on the Live Desktop, they should be offered to the XP machine when you sign in after the reinstall, and you can merge them with existing folders, if desired. The XP machine will appear as new to your Mesh since you'll have removed it from the Live Desktop previously.
