Can't Get Windows 7 Home Edition to Activate

Question
-
A software update got installed over the weekend, and it now appears Windows activation fails.
I tried to re-activate, but get an "Incorrect Parameter" error when slui.exe runs, and the browser based activation just hangs forever. I also tried running SFC and doing a system restore to the recovery point prior to the update. Any help would be appreciated!
Here is the output from the MGADiag.exe tool.

I was afraid you'd say that - this is the third such case I've seen in the past 24 hours, so I suspect that malware may be at the root of it.
Pleaseboot to Safe Mode with Networking, then download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) from www.malwarebytes.org - UNtick 'Enable free trial of MBAM PRO' at the end of the installation - and update it, then run a full scan in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.
Delete everything it finds , then reboot to Normal Mode, and see if it's helped at all - post a new MGADiag report.

Please first try
recreating Licensing Store.Recreate the Licensing Store
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt
Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the
end of eachnet stop sppsvc
(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)
CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
net start sppsvc
slui.exe
After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear.
You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may
occur automatically. If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's
caseReboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report

Once slui starts, I get an error that an unauthorized change was made to Windows and that I need to restore or reinstall. Any other options before I go down that path? Here's the re-run of MGADiag after renaming the tokens file.
