windows 7 not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a HP G71-340US purchased with windows 7 home premium installed from Staples in April 2010.  I am getting the error message.  Software disks did not come with the item so I do not have a product key#.  Why am I getting this error and how do I fix it?

  • The product key is not on the disks anyway.  It is on the bottom of the laptop or in the battery compartment.
