winssnotify.exe - bad image RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had the message "winssnotify.exe - bad image", one care would not operate.  Thought I was following the instructions and suggestions reading this forum.  Ended up removing one care using the OneCareCleanup application, reinstalled one care and it looks like used up one of my subscriptions.  Also, duplicated this computer in my onecare circle.  So, I show the same computer twice, one with the status "at risk", even though that is the version that has been replaced. How do I straighten this out?  I intend on using my third subscription on my laptop.

  • On the hub PC, expand the at risk entry (the ghost PC that you removed) by clicking details to the right. Then click the link below that entry to "remove this PC from the OneCare subscription" and it will go away. Even if you chose not to use the Circle functionality, a reinstall does not take away a license count - you just can't run OneCare on more than 3 PCs at a time for a single subscription per the license terms.
