  • Hi!

We are currently running a OCS2007 Std in a prrof of concept. The plan was to continoue running on the standard edtion once in production but since the live meeting feature is heavily used already we are thinking of installing a enterprise edition to be able to have the roles on different servers, create a new pool and move all the users to the new pool. But to start with, is it possible to do that or are we stuck in our standard edition?

  • You can deploy an Enterprise Edition Front-End server and thus create a new pool.  Then you can move all of the users from the Standard Edition Server over to the Enterprise Pool and decommision the Standard server.  Don't forget to move over the Address Book Service as well.  I've performed this in a production environment and it's pretty straightforward.

  • ok, thanks Jeff!

About the address book. If I install a webcomponent server, do I have to anything more than chagne the ABS url for the pool?

  • Well, you might want to move the exisiting addressbook files and diff files to the new server as well. Save your users a nunch of unnecesary downlowds if they continue to have diff files available.
