CRM 3.0 : Synchronize production and develpment environnement RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I would like to synchronize my production environnement to the development environnement.
How can I do this ? I already did it ut it was an CRM 2011.

    Product machines:
     CRMPROD for CRM 3.0 production
CRMDB for database (on default instance)

    Development environnement:
     CRMDEV for CRM 3.0 develpment
CRMDB for database (on other instance)

Machines are in the same domain.

Thank you in advance for your support.

  • Hello Feridun,

    Thank you for your answer.
I'm not searching an ougoing program to synchronize my production and development environment.
I'm searching a "step-by-step" to synchronize both environment.

    I imaged this procedure :

    1. Backup productive database
    2. Delete development database
    3. Import the productive database to the development database environnement

This probably will not work because the security group are differents...

    I also imaged:

    1. Uninstall Microsoft CRM 3.0 from develpment environnement
    2. Delete the development database
    3. Backup productive database
    4. Restore productive database to the development instance of the db machine
    5. Install Microsoft CRM 3.0 using existing database

I don't like this process because i need to re-add all callout and ISV.config.

How can i do ? I image Microsoft or partners already did a synchronization between the productive and the development environnement.

  • OK, I think you have to follow your second procedure. However, after you restore the database, you should run the CRM Redeployment Wizard before you install CRM 3.0. The wizard is in the redeploymenttool folder of the server setup files.

I know this won't help you but the process is simpler in CRM4 and 2011 - more like your first procedure.
