Hello iain1997,
The error "Error2: The system cannot fund the file specified." can mean one of two things (that I'm aware of). Either:
1) The file (in this case sppsvc.exe) has been moved or deleted from it's proper folder.
or
2) The Registry Enter (which tell Windows where the specific file can be found) has been damaged or deleted.
-For possibility #1), the resolution would be to either repair or replace the file.
To repair the file try the below steps
a. System Scan. The scan will look for bad Windows files and will attempt to repair them, if possible.
1) Click the Start Button
2) Type: cmd.exe
3) Right-click the cmd.exe file and select 'Run as Administrator'
4) In the CMD window, type: sfc /scannow
5) Reboot and see if that resolves the issue.
b. Repairing Windows using System Restore:
1) Click the Start button
2) In the Start Search field, type: System Restore and hit “Enter”
3) Select "Choose Different Restore Point", Put a check in the box that says "Show restore points older than 5 days", select the restore point that corresponds to the date Before you first noticed the issue.
4) Click the "Next" button.
5) Reboot and see if that resolves the issue. To replace the file, you would need to find another PC running Windows 7, find the sppsvc.exe file (located in the windows/system32 folder) and copy it to your PC.
-For possibility #2), the issue is with the Windows Registry which I do not like to troubleshoot over the forums (because of the high possibility of really messing up Windows, if something is done incorrectly). For a Registry issue, I would recommend contacting Microsoft Assisted Support at one of the below URLs

Your problem appears to be that the Software Protection Service is not functioning. Please try the following:Click on the Start buttonIn the Search box, typeSERVICES.MSCand hit the Enter keyAccept the UAC prompt, if you get one, and the Services Console will appear.Look down the list for the Software Protection Serviceright-click on it, and select PropertiesIn the Startup type section, it should say 'Automatic(delayed start)' - If not, then set it that way, and click ApplySelect the Start button to attempt to start the service - what happens? If the service fails to start, what is the EXACT error message?Reboot - allow a few minutes for the system to settle down, and run a new MGADiag report, and post the result here--
