Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 OEM invalid Product Key

Question
-
Hi all,
I've seen my problem is shared by others. I have recently purchased a PC with Vista .and Office Home Student 2007. The vista activation and verification went well, but the Office keeps shooting me with invalid product key.
I diagnosed and saw that i had Status 102, which I took for previously installed trial version not fully unistalled. So I followed the recomendations herein to unistall and got a CD from the PC supplier to reinstall Office. THey claim it has worked for thousands of customers.
I checked the diagnosis after manual uninstall and it read 109 N/A, which I took for a successfull unistall of the trial version.
So I installed the new CD the guys sent me, and got invalid key again and Office Status 102 again on the diagnosis.
I have now ordered a new Backup CD from Microsoft at 12 £, thank you. And will go through the whole thing again when it arrives, says it will take 28 days!!!
However, can you please take a look at this diagnosis print out and let me know if there is anything else that is wrong, I wonder if the seller just sent me a blocked or bogus key. The stickers look valid, as checked with the authenticity website.
Thanks for your help

Hello mp1970,
Do you still have office installed from the new CD you were provided? When you install the Office Suite you were given are you prompted during the install to enter your product key? Can you please post the last 15 digits of the Office product key you were given?Thank you,

Fortunately all my problems are solved, the microsoft backup disc arrived. It has a nice holographic cd and a COA. Installed, key was accepted and now I am out of the woods.
So this will be my last post of this subject. Look at the link below to see that OEM kits can be preinstalled and no media (medialess license) can be purchased with product key.
http://www.microsoft.com/oem/english/Officescenario.mspx
In fact I have a nice microsoft box, sent originally by the seller, with COA and the product key sticker. It says "This package does not contain any discs that can be used to install software. Backup discs are available for qualified purchases".
I guess my only problem was my vendor used the wrong installation kit and did not verify that it was working correctly.
I would beg moderators at this forum or whoever should be answering for "speak to us at microsoft" to educate themselves a little better about microsoft products and if they can´t answer the posts, try at least to ask questions to guide the poster towards solving its problem.
Good luck to you all.

Yes I have still the CD i was provided, it is just a burned CD, not a Microsoft CD. When I install I am prompted for product key at the beggining of the install process. As it comes out invalid, currently I install it using the "enter key later" tick, so it lets me at least use it while I wait for this to be sorted out.
Product key is down here:

Thanks

Sorry, but a "burned CD" is not considered an authentic, genuine CD. Please see the following:

Carey,
I am sorry to say your post is not very helpfull. If you read my first post I tell you that I have what looks like valid Authenticity stickers. I have received from the vendor a DVD box with the microsoft covers and two stickers. One is the product key sticker and the other is the authenticity sticker. Both look authentic as per the website.
I have of course gone through the how to tell website before posting here. I did dedicate some time to first going through all the information available in microsoft websites, this forums and other developers forum i found. I you allow me I would say that this type of "pro forma" general responses are very annoying and of little help to the users, to they simply imply that whoever is posting is a bit dumb.
When I first encountered the problem with the key, the vendor supplied me a burned CD, which I presumed is nothing but a backup disc of the what is supposed to be the downloaded OEM installation package. As OEM soft does not come with an accompanying CD, it is supposed to be installed by the vendor. And the box even tells you how to get a backup CD if you want to have it. Which now I have done to try to sort this out, as stated before in my posts.
I see you are not a microsoft employee, but the name of this forum is Speak to us at Microsoft, so I guessed this was a Microsoft support forum.
Hope this helps to clarify the problem I am facing. I am still waiting for the Microsoft backup disc to reinstall the whole thing and try the key again in hope that will sort the problem. In the meantime I will appreciate any help in sorting this out.
Regards.

Bona fide System Builders are required to provide the end-user with an authentic, holographic Microsoft OEM CD, COA, and product key in one package if you purchase the software from them. It appears your vendor is not complying with the System Builder licensing agreement all System Builders must agree to when selling Microsoft OEM software. The System Builder, and not necessarily Microsoft, is 100% responsible for the Microsoft software they sell to end-users.
