OEM windows 7 32 bit change to 64 bit

Question
-
Hi
I have read some of the other questions relating to this, but before I wipe my hard drive and install windows 7 64 bit, I want to sure it will activate! I have a Genuine windows 7 bit DVD supplied by ACER with my PC and its product code. It was only supplied as the 32 bit version. I think from reading the forums I am licensed to install the 64 bit version and either use the same product key, or call the phone activation service if needed. Can you confirm that this IS the case, I don't want to waste my time wiping my hard and installing 64 bit, only to find I can't and have to start all over again with the 32 bit DVD.
Thanks

A Windows 7 OEM product key can be used to install either a 32-bit or 64-bit edition. However, phone activation will likely be required.
