Page load time very slow: any suggestions? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created two courses on the LCDS platform.  The SCORM files have been published on a Sharepoint platform. We have installed the Sharepoint Learning kit on our netword to support this.  When viewing the course on this Sharepoint platform, the page load time within the U.S. and Canada is 2-3 seconds per page (acceptable). However, when viewing the course from Europe, Australian, New Zealand (where we also have offices), the page load time is 10-15 seconds per page (not acceptable).  Any suggestions/ideas for how to improve performance?  What might be the cause of this?  Thanks for your help!

  • Is this true for all your pages?  What type of content templates are you using? Do they have media on them?

  • I have the same problems too. By now this good-looking tool is totally unusable for me because when we try to access a course in a network, we are having 10-15 seconds per page (with all the templates).

We have tried the coruse in some LMS, including the Sharepoint Learning Toolkit and it keeps going slow so the problem might be in the javascipt code used to parse and interpret the XML files.

does anybody knows how to solve it? are you really using this tool for real e-elarning courses?
