so i had a friend reinstall xp pro and since then i cant get any antivirus to install...when i try to install my security suite provided by my isp as soon as i validate and initialize my pf goes from like 200mb to like 1.36g!!!!( but the cpu stays under 10%) everything slows to a crawl and eventually i get "virtual memory too low" messages and assurances that windows is trying to increase the size of my paging file. i have intel duo core ram (512) and 250g hard drive....and on my first xp installation i had no problems at all....i've completely uninstalled all antivirus programs and remnants i could find, including a botched attempt at running liveonecares free trial...i cant get the live safety scanner to load any tools after 8/11...it just stops! i've cleaned the registry, updated windows to death, defragged, repaired the registry as far as i knew how...temp files are clean...what the hell?!?!?!? i'm at my wits end! i just want my pc to be safe and secure! please help me!!! - chad
