Find Records Shared with a User? For Outlook Synchronization RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ultimately I'm trying to create a Data Group to include some contact records to be synchronized with Outlook that a user is not the owner of.

The best way I thought to do this is to Share the records then Add a data group based on records shared with that user.

I can't find a way to identify records shared with a user. Is there a way?

Alternativell does someone have a better suggestion as to how I can add Contact not owned by a user to a Users Outlook Synchronization?

    Thanks,
    Tony

  • Hi Tony,

You can't create a rule that selects all contacts owned by you and 'shared' with you.  There are various ways to modify this rule so you synchronize your contacts plus additional contacts.  For example, you can synchronize all contacts owned by you and related to acounts that meet x criteria.  Or all contacts owned by anyone in business unit X.  Or all all contacts owned by user a and b.  Or if you are restricting who can view contacts perhaps a simple as all contacts.
