Why is my office telling me it is not genuine? The validation went through?

  The Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 is Non-Genuine.  It was installed using a Blocked Volume Licensce Key (VLK). VLK software is not to be sold to consumers, but are designed for large organizations that need 10s 100s or 1000s of Office installs.  In this case the VLK is the one Microsoft licened to itself for use by it's own employees.  The Key leaked to the internet some time ago and Microsoft has since blocked it from further use.

    The reason you hadn't see the Non-Genuine message sooner is that Office doesn't have any anti-piracy systems other then Activation and this pirated Product Key is a Volume License Key that doesn't require Activation.  The only way for you to have found out that the Office was Non-Genuine would have been if you had gone to http://Microsoft.com/genuine and click the 'Validate Office", gone to the Office Download site and attempted to download any validation protected content or by installing the Office Notifier. It turns out that Microsoft recently released the Office Notifier thru Windows Update and it is what is notifying you that the Office is Non-Genuine

    Now, I am Not accusing you of piracy. There are a number of reason why your Office would be using a Pirated key. The three most common are:

  1) You may have bought the software from a unscrupulous seller who sold you pirated software.
   
   In which case I recommend, if possible, contacting that seller and demand the Genuine Microsoft software, that you paid for or at least a refund. I also recommend submitting a Piracy Report at http://microsoft.com/piracy

  or

  2) You had your computer worked on (by a repair person, a friend or that smart kid down the street) and in the course of fixing the PC, they had to reinstall Office.  Instead of contacting you to get the proper Product Key, (maybe due to not knowing it was wrong or due to laziness) they downloaded it from the internet.
   
   In this case, you probably have a Genuine copy (and Product Key) of Office, you just need to uninstall the Non-genuine one and reinstall the software using the proper (Genuine) Product Key

  or

  3) A repair person, a friend or that smart kid down the street may have thought they were doing you a Favor by installing a copy of Office on your computer, "for Free".  But in fact he/she installed a Pirated Copy.  It's all togeather possible they didn't know they were doing anything wrong and thought they were just being nice.
   
   In this case, the best way to resolve the issue would be to uninstall the software and if you still want to use Office, buy it from a trusted retailer or online store.

  Your installation of Office Professional 2003 on your Acer computer is a nongenuine installation.  It is a volume licensing installation that was done with a widely pirated and now-blocked Volume Licensing Key.  A "blocked" VLK is one that was issued by Microsoft to a business, educational institution, or governmental agency for their exclusive use in accordance with a Volume Licensing Agreement.  (Note that such use does NOT allow the resale of such VLKs.)  However, because the VLK may have been reported lost, stolen, or compromised to the internet by the original keyholder, or because the Volume Licensing Agreement has expired, Microsoft has blocked the VLK from further use.

  Additionally, I noticed that the installation of Front Page 2003 is a Volume Licensing edition of this program, and not the retail license that you should have if you are an individual consumer.  Volume Licensing editions of Office 2003 family programs have a Product ID value in the second section of the PID of "640" thru "649" and a Pid=Type of "14" in the mgadiag report's "Other data" section.
  
  
  Normally, legitimate users of Volume Licensing editions of Office are associated with larger business, educational, or governmental organizations tha have curent Volume Licensing Agreements with Microsoft.  If that's you, please contact your organization's IT support staff for further assistance.
  
  If your use of this installation of Office Professional 2003 is not associated with a larger business, educational, or governmental organization, and you purchased the installed copy of Office Professional 2003 thinking that it was a retail license to be sold to individual consumers, it is likely that you are a victim of software piracy or counterfeiting.  As an individual consumer, you should never have been sold Volume Licensing (VL) materials such as the VL installation disc and you certainly should not have received a Blocked VLK for Office Professional 2003.  You should have been sold Genuine retail licensed software.
  
  If so, your first course of action is to confront your seller with this information and demand a full refund.

  One other possibility is that at one time your computer did have a Genuine installation of Office installed, but for some reason it was replaced with the current installations which are nongenuine.  This could have happened if you took your computer to a repair shop and they reinstalled Windows and/or some or all of your programs.  You Get Genuine once again by uninstalling the current nongenuine installations of Office family programs and using your Genuine Microsoft hologrammed Office installation CDs, along with the genuine Product Key found on your Office Edition's Certificate of Authenticity or yellow-orange Proof of License label, to put back the genuine installation of Office you may have already had on the computer.
