RDC suddenly stopped working after a year of use. Get "internal error" message. RRS feed

  • I work remotely through an F5 VPN with RSA dual authentication.  Once inside the firewall and into the intranet, I run RDC and connect to my work computer.  This has worked without fail for a year, but a couple of days ago, even though I get VPN in with no trouble and have access to other features within the company's intranet, when I click Connect on the RDC dialog box, I get "An Internal Error has Occurred."  I spent hours on the phone with company tech support and they assured me the remote box is on and they were able to remote into it.  I can also ping and tracert the remote box while VPN is active - I just can't connect.  No changes have been made in any configuration since it was set up over a year ago.
