Are deltas used when synchronizing files and changes are detected? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are deltas used when synchronizing files and changes are detected?

Can you point me to information regarding deltas?

Is it something similar to rsync for delta transmission?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Teresa,

The change detection in the file sync provider is described here:

  • My question is not about the file change detection but about how are the file changes transmited. I assume deltas are transmited instead of the entire files but I can't find information about what is used. in the sync framework. I read something about a windows DeltaCopy API. What is used in the sync framework?

  • If a change (update) has been detected in a file, the File Sync Provider will send the entire file to the destination.
