can I validate without connecting to the internet? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm returning to my PC after a few years of using applemac.  I left the PC as I couldn't get the validation to work.  I bought the PC with Windows 7 from a genuine seller (PC World, UK) - so it must be genuine.  I don't want to connect to the internet and try again as I have no valid anti virus softaware and I don't want to buy any until I know I can get the PC running again.

Is it possible to validate my windows 7 via another computer but giving my codes or talking to a Microsoft agent and validating that way.

  •  Assuming you mean Activation, rather than validation...

    telephone activation (operator calls)

    Click on the Start button

    in the Search box, type

    SLUI   4

    and hit the Enter key

follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you

    If you have problems...

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
     Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
      - **in your own thread**, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

You can run the MGADiag from a USB Stick :)
