"This computer is not running genuine Windows" And "Windows requires a digitally signed driver" ever since updates yesterday. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why is that my on my Used Dells with a DELL Win 7 Pro COA sticker ALREADY on it,...... I re-install Windows 7 with my DELL official Win 7 disc, says it is activated, then I get these messages? Since updates yesterday? Why??

More activation mess to jam your customers with? I thought a Dell PC with SLIC 2.0 was instantly activated and stayed that way?

I'm really getting fed up with this. I need answers to this. With increased malware and you guys jamming your customers with more activations I have a small shop and I'm really thinking of going to Apple OSX.

Hard drives go bad guys, which destroys recovery partitions. Malware destroys Windows partitions. Which is why re-installs are needed.

  • To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

     Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

      - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
